Speaker: Mark Gregory Robson, B.S., M.S., Ph.D., M.P.H., A.T.S. The tsunami struck in December 2004, after four years what has the effort to restore the land been like? This presentation will discuss the recovery efforts in Southern Thailand and Northern Indonesia, looking particularly at the public health challenges that still exist four years after the event. This discuss will center on some of the capacity building efforts the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has fostered through grant funding, as well as some of the projects that have been initiated in Thailand as a result of the National Institute of Health's funded Thai ITREOH Project at Chulalongkorn University. This discussion will include thesis research, pilot projects, and nursing capacity and training for the areas hardest hit by the tsunami.
